Chinese New Year

Last Tuesday, on the 8th February, my family went to Ipoh in Malaysia to visit our relatives. It was quite enjoyable, and we received many Ang Paos. We ate different types of food such as the 'Bak Gua' and pineapple tarts, usually ate only during the Chinese New Year. We did enjoy eating bubble gum a lot, since it is banned in Singapore. We played "mahjong" to kill time. All of us enjoyed an easy time simply receiving the Ang Paos while our parents had a hard time wrapping them. "We must be sincere", my Mum would say. As all of our cousins speak Cantonese, I felt very uncomfortable. But on the whole, it was a very joyous occasion as it was one of the rare occasions which the whole big family can get together. I am looking forward to the next Chinese New Year.
